Why Does Abstract Painting Still Feel Like Guessing?
Here's the truth...
You don't need another technique. You need to understand why it worked.
Sound familiar?
You're not struggling because you lack talent.
You're struggling because you've been taught techniques without understanding the principles behind them.
Once you understand why one painting works and another doesn't, your decisions become clearer.
You stop relying on luck, and start trusting your own eye.
You've stood in front of a painting thinking,
"What do I do now?"
You've watched tutorials.
You've tried different techniques.
You second-guess every decision.
One more thing...
And suddenly you've painted over the part you liked best.

Your course was presented to me at the right time and right place. I still enjoy realism, however, now I understand realism and abstraction can be combined-or-I can paint either one separately. I will tell you, you have given me the gift of freedom through abstraction!
Andrea has such a generous spirit and shares her wealth of knowledge and experience in ways that really help you grow as an artist. After taking this class, I feel like I now have concrete foundational skills and principles that have really built my confidence.

About your Instructor
Andrea Cermanski
I'm Andrea Cermanski—an abstract painter, gallery-represented artist, and educator with nearly 30 years of studio experience and more than 20 years of teaching experience.
I believe abstract painting isn't mysterious—it's misunderstood.
Most instruction focuses on techniques. I teach the principles behind those techniques so you understand why a painting works, not just what to do next.
In this workshop, I'll show you the foundational concepts that help painters stop second-guessing themselves, make stronger decisions, and create more cohesive, confident abstract paintings.
Because when you understand the "why," everything starts to click.
